Scientists of Junagadh Agricultural University found gold in Gir cows urine. Around 400 Gir cows’ urine sample was analysed at the Food Testing Laboratory of Junagadh Agricultural University that shown traces of gold ranging from three mg to 10 mg from one litre urine. The metal was found in ionic form, that is gold salts soluble in water.
After four years of extensive research, the team of researchers led by Dr B A Golakia, head of Junagadh Agricultural University’s biotechnology department used gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) method to analyse the urine samples.
We all heard a lot about medicinal properties and health benefits of cow’s urine as well as the presence of gold in it in our holy scriptures but till date no scientific study was done on the same. Now, the analysis of 400 Gir cows proved that cows urine has the presence of gold in it.
